Description

A simple yet elegant dish featuring perfectly seared scallops, enhanced with a tangy and rich lemon butter sauce.

Ingredients

– 1 lb large sea scallops, patted dry
– Salt and pepper, to taste
– 2 tbsp olive oil
– 2 tbsp unsalted butter
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– Zest of 1 lemon
– Juice of 1 lemon
– 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
– Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

1. Season scallops with salt and pepper.
2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
3. Sear scallops for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
4. Remove scallops and reduce heat.
5. Melt butter in the skillet, add garlic, cook until fragrant.
6. Stir in lemon zest and juice, scraping up browned bits.
7. Return scallops to the pan, toss in the sauce for 1-2 minutes.
8. Garnish with parsley, serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

Ensure scallops are dry for a good sear. Avoid overcrowding the pan for even cooking. Fresh ingredients make a significant difference in flavor.
